A boby is moving in a room with a velocity of `20m//s` perpendicular to the two walls separated by 5 meters .There is no friction and the collisionnn with the walls are elastic.

A

not periodic

B

periodic but not simple harmonic

C

periodic and simple harmonic

D

periodic with variable time period

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The correct Answer is:
B

Since there is no friction and collision is elastic, no loss of energy takes place and the body strikes again and again with two perpendicular walls. So the motion of the ball is periodic. But here, there is no restoring force. So the characteristics of SHM will not be satisfied.
