Would you choose an exonuclease, while producing a recombinant DNA molecule?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

No, exonuclease will shorten or degrade the DNA fragments containing required gene, because it acts at free ends of linear DNA. It will not provide DNA fragments with sticky ends. Circular plasmid (not having free end) will not get a cut.
