A mixture of fragmented DNA was electrophoresed in an agarose gel. After staining the gel with ethidium bromide, no DNA bands were observed. What could be the reason?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

(i) Due to contamination of DNA with exonuclease and endonuclease, DNA can be degraded, when loaded on gel.
(ii) Wrong fitting of electrodes.
(iii) Non-visibility of DNA due to non addition of ethidium bromide.
