Mycorrhizae are association between the fungal hyphae and roots of higher plants. The fungi help the plants in absorption ofessential nutrients from the soil and also secrete growth promoting chemicals. These also antibiotics to provide protection from pathogenic micro-organisms. So these are used as biofertillizers. Boletus is the soil fungus that commonly forms mycorrhizal association with the roots of higher plants.
