Some liquids on mixing from 'azeotropes'. What are 'azeotropes'?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Azeotropic solution are those are those solution whose boiling points constant. As a result ,
both components boil at the same tempreature, regardless of difference in their respective boiling points .
Thus, binary mixtures that have the same composition in liquid and vapour phase and have
constant boiling points are called azeotropes . It is not possible points are called azeotrope,
It is not possible to separate the components of azeotropes by fractional distillation.
