Moss. In moss like funaria meiosis takes place in spore mother cells of spore sacs in capsule of sporogonium . Sporogonium is formed from diploid zygote formed after fusion of egg in archegonium and sperms.
Fern . Fern plant like Dryopteris bears fertile leaves (sporophylls ) . On sporophylls sporangia are borne. Meiosis takes place in spore mother cells of sporangium to form haploid spores which on germination givee rise prothalli on which gametes are borne. Gymnosperm . In gymnosperms like pinus meiosis take place in microsporangia present on microsporophylls . Meiosis occurs in microspore mother cells to form haploid pollen grains. Pollen grains give rise to male gametopyte . For the formation of megaspores ( haploid ) meiosis takes place in megaspore mother cell ofovule. Megaspore take part in formatioon of female gametophyte.
Angiosperms . Pollen grains ( Haploid ) are formed in microspore mother cells of pollen sacs in anther of stamen .
Pollen grain ( microspore ) leads to the formation of male gametophyte.
Inside ovary ovules are borne . In nucellus of ovule megaspore mother cell is present which undergoes meiosis to form haploid megaspores . Functional megaspore forms embryo sac ( female gametophyte) .
