How useful is the study of the nature of body cavity and coelom in the classification of animals?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Study of nature of body cavity (coelom) indicates whether the animal is acoelomate (without coelom) or pseudocoelomate (with fales coelom) or haemocoelomate (coelom with blood) or schizocoelomate (coelom formed by splitting of mesoderm) or entercoelomate (coelom formed from archenteron). This will help in assigning the exact taxonomic position of animals.
