What is the commerical source of cork ? How is it formed in the plant ?

It is obtained from Quercus suber. It provides cork tissue in the form of bottle cork. Cork cambium or phellogen cuts off cells towards outerside to form cork or phellem. In phellem cells become highly suberised and dead.
