Pinus, needles bear xerophytic characters like : (i) Thick bark (ii) Needles with sunken stomata.
Pinus is adapted to conditions of scanty rainfall, precipitation in the form of snow, low temperature etc. It donot shed its leaves and continues to photosynthesize.
Thus it is an evergreen tree.
