What is meant by tertiary structure of proteins ?

(i) A polypeptide chain is folded upon itself to form a three- dimensional globular structure .
(ii) It is stabilized by four types of bonds : ionic bonds , H-bonds , hydrophobic bonds and disulpide bonds between different loops of same polypeptide chain .
(iii) Examples : All the enzymes , myoglobin of muscles , globulins of plasma , etc.
