  • Polynucleotides are nucleic acid. Every nucleotide is made up of three parts, i.e, a pentose sugar , a heterocyclic nitrogenous base and phosphoric acid. Depending upon the type of sugar whether, ribose or 2-deoxyribose, nucleic acid are called RNA and DNA respectively. overall there are remaining three are pyrimidines . out of these five bases, each type nucleic acid has four of them.
