If a plant shows a symptom which could develop due to deficiency of more than one nutrient, how would you find out experimentally, the real deficient mineral element?

For this technique of hydroponics can be used. Plants are grown in pure nutrient media with only required elements. Similarly other glass containers, plant is allowed to grow artificially with same nutritive culture, which contains all essential elements except one, whose deficiency symptom is to be judged. If said deficiency symptom appears, it is due to deficiency of that particular nutrient.
