We know that plants require nutrients. If we supply these in excess, will it be beneficial to the plants ? If yes, how/ if no, why ?

Excess of mineral nutrients may be toxic for plants, due to:
(i) Increase in osmotic concentration in soil.
(ii) Excess of any nutrient may stop the uptake of other element.
In the case of manganese toxicity, brown spots surrounded by chlorotic veins appear.
Excess of Mn reduces the uptake of Mg and Fe.
