Miller experimentally proved the formation of simple organic compounds (e.g. amino acids like glycine, alanine, aspartic acid, etc.) from simpler compounds (eg methane, ammonia, hydrogen and water vapours) in reducing laboratory conditions. His experiment supported Oparin-Haldane chemosynthetic theory of origin of life.
