Name the parasite that causes filariasis in humans. Mention its two diagnostic symptoms. How is this disease transmitted to others?

Filariasis is caused by Wuchereria bancrofti, a nematode, found in lymph vessels and lymph nodes of man. It is characterised by blockage of lymph vessels and extreme swelling of certain body parts like legs, scrotal sacs, breasts, etc. Its mode of transmission is indirect and inoculative in which its micro-filariae are injected into blood alongwith the saliva of Aedes and Culex mosquitoes.
