Two transparent slabs having equal thick...

Two transparent slabs having equal thickness but different refractive indices `mu_1 and mu_2`, are pasted side by side to form a composite slab. This slab is placed just after the double slit in a Young's experiment so that the light from one slit goes through one material and the light from the other slit goes through the other material. What should be the minimum thickness of the slab so that there is a minimum at the point `P_0` which is equidistant from the slits ?

Two transparent slabs having equal thickness 0.45 mm and refractive indices 1.40 and 1.42 are pasted on the two slits of a double slit apparatus. The separation of slits equals 1mm. Wavelength of light used equals 600 nm. The screen is placed at a distance 1m from the plane of the slits. The central maxima from the centre of the screen is [in mm]

In Young’s double slit experiment, one of the slits is so painted that intensity of light emitted from it is half of that of the light emitted from other slit. Then :

The width of one of the two slits in a Young's double slit experiment is double of the other slit. Assuming that the amplitude of the light coming from a slit is proportional to the slit width, find the ratio of the maximum to the minimum intensity in the interference pattern.
