Find in degrees the angle subtended at t...

Find in degrees the angle subtended at the centre of a circle of diameter 50 cm by an arc of length 11 cm.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Here, `r = 25 cm` and `l = 11 cm`
Let the measure of the required angle be `theta^(c )`.
Then, `theta^(2) = (l/r)^(c ) = (11/25)^(c )`
`= (11/25 xx 180/pi)^(@) [ :' pi^(c ) = 180^(@) ]`
`= (11/25 xx 7/22 xx 180)^(@)`
`= (126/5)^(@) = 25^(@)12'`.
Hence the required angle is `25^(@)12'`.
