2.00 g of non=electrolyte solute dissolved in 100 g of benzene lowered the freezing point of benzene by 0.50K. The freezing point depression constant of benzene is 5.12 K kg mol^(-1) . Find out the relative molar mass of the solute.

What equivalent of a copper vessel is 100 g. It contains 1 kg of watar at 30^(@)C . The vessel is heated with a Bunsen burner. If the burner supplies 200 cal of heat per second, then find the time required for the water to start boiling?

A vessel made of copper weighs 1 kg and it contains 1 kg of water at 10^(@)C . How much coal will be required to raise the temperature of this water to 100^(@)C ? On burning 1 kg of coal, 10^(4) cal of heat can be produced and 40% of this heat is lost. Specific heat of copper ="0.09 cal.g"^(-1).^(@)C^(-1) .

A 10 kW drilling machine is used to drill a bore in a small aluminium block of mass 8.0 kg. How much is the rise in temperature of the block in 2.5 minutes, assuming 50% of power is used up in heating the machine itself or lost to the surroundings. Specific heat of aluminium =:0.91 J.g"^(-1).K^(-1) .

A uniform magnetic field of 100 G (IG=10^(-4)T) exists in a region of length about 10 cm and area of cross- section about 10^(-3)m^(2) . The maximum current carrying capacity of a given coil of wire is 15A and the number of turns per unit length that can be wound round a core is at most 1000 turns m^(-1) . How would you utils the coil to design a solenoid for the required purpose ? Assume the core is not ferromagnetic.
