Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Semipermeable membranes don’t allow passage of solutes through it, they allow entry of only solvent . They are used in dialysis, measurement of osmotic potential , maintenance of turgidity etc.
Selectively permeable membranes allow passage of some selected solutes to limited to a limited extent. They also allow the entry of solvent . Useful in maintaining turgidity while retaining the ability to absorb solutes .
