Thalamus is a oval shaped grey matter generally found in the two sides of the third ventricles and lies superior to the mid brain and beneath the cerebrum. It controls personality and social behaviour. Hypothalamus is a part of fore brain which control emotion, hunger, thirst, mainly found in the lower part of the third ventricle and below the thalam.
