`(2x)^2 + 5x=4x+5x=9x`

LHS = `(2x) ^2 + 5x = 4x^2 + 5x`
RHS = `9x`
∴ `LHS ≠ RHS`
So, the correct statement is`(2x)^ 2 + 5x = 4x^2 + 5x` = `9x`
