We have
ar(sqABCD)`=(14xx14)cm^(2)=196cm^(2)`
Let the radius of each semicircle be a cm.
Then `(a+2a+a)={14-(3+3)}cm=8cm`
`:.4a=8impliesa=2`
So, the radius of each semicircle `=2cm`
Area of 4 semicircles `=(4xx1/2xx3.14xx2xx2)cm^(2)=25.12cm^(2)`
Length of each side of the smaller square
`=2acm=(2xx2)cm=4cm`
Area of smaller square `=(4xx4)cm^(2)=16cm^(2)`
Area of unshaded region `=(25.12+16)cm^92)=41.12cm^(2)`
Area of shaded region `=(16-41.12)cm^(2)=154.88cm^(2)`
Hence the required area is `154.88cm^(2)`
