Product A is manufactured in a series of three operations - Cutting, Finishing and Assembling respectively. Total manpower is 100, which is in the ratio of 2 : 3 : 5 in Cutting, Finishing and Assembling operations respectively. There is skilled and unskilled manpower for each of the operations. A skilled worker is twice as good as an unskilled worker. The ratio of skilled to unskilled workers is 3 : 1, 2 : 1 and 2 : 3 for Cutting. Finishing and Assembling operations respectively. The operations are done in shifts of 8 hours. Product A requires 3.5 man hours of Cutting, 1 man hour of Finishing and 1.4 man hours of Assembling of skilled manpower Number of Man hours = (workers required) (hours spent)
