When a bullet is fired from a gun

A

The kinetic energy of the bullet is more than that of the gun.

B

The acceleration of the bullet is more than that of the gun.

C

The momentum of the bullet is more than that of gun.

D

The correct Answer is:
A, B, D

(a) According to the law of conservation of momentum,
`overset(to) (P_(B)) + overset(to)(G)=0` or `overset(to)(P_(G))=overset(to)(P_(B))`
(b) `m overset(to)(v) + M overset(to)(V) =0` i.e.,`overset(to)(V) = (-m)/(M) overset(to)(v)`, if the bullet moves forward, gun recoils or kicks backward, and the heavier the gun, the lesser the recoil.
(c ) As `K= (p^2)/( 2m),` so `(K_G)/( K_B) = ( m)/(M )`
i.e., `K_G lt K_B`
(d) As `overset(to) (F_G) =-overset(to)(F_G)` or `M overset(to)(a_G) =- moverset(to) (a_B)`
i.e., `| overset (to)(a_B)| gt |overset(to)(a_G)|`
So option (a), (b) and ( d) are correct.
