Pituitary gland secretes a number of hormones (e.g., TSH, ACTH, etc.) which regulate the working of ther endocrine glands. TSH controls the growth and activity of thyroid gland. ACTH stimulates the cortex of adrenal gland to produce hormone. However, the pituitary gland itself remains under the control of hormones secreted by hypothalamus of brain.
