Growth: Growth may be defined as a permanent and irreversible change in the size of a cell, organ or whole organism usually accompanied by an increase in dry weight.
Differentiation. Differentiation is the process whereby cells assume specialized morphologies and functions. It is also regarded as the process of maturation.
Development. Development is the whole series of change which an organism goes through during its life cycle.
Dedifferentiation. The living differentiated cells, under special circumstances, become meristematic i.e., regain the capacity to divide. This phenomoneon is called dedifferentiation.
Redifferentiation. Redifferentiation is defined as maturation or differentiation of dedifferentiated tissues.
Determinate growth. The ability of a cell, tissue or the organism to grow for a limited period of time is called determinate growth.
Meristem. Meristem is a group of cells which are in continuous state of division and add new cells to the body
Growth rate. The increased growth per unit time is termed as growth rate.
