What is meant by Respiration Quotient (RQ) ? When will the value of RQ be 1 and when will it be less than 1 ?

Respiratory Quotient (RQ) is the ratio of volume of `CO_(2)` exhaled and `O_(2)` inhaled during breathing . Value of RQ will be 1 when both the volumes are same and less than 1 when `CO_(2)` exhaled is less and `O_(2)` inhaled is more.
