Name the hormonal composition of the oral contraceptive used by human female. Explain how does it act as a contraceptive ?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Oral contraceptive pulls contain small doses of either progestogen alone or a combination of progestogen and estrogen (combined pill). These pills check ovulation in female by inhibiting the secretion of FSH and LH hormones that are necessary for ovulation. Hence, no eggs are released in woment taking pills and conception can not occur.
