Males in whom tests fail to descend to the scrotum are generally infertile why ?

For spermatogenesis to occur normally, testes require slightly less temperature than than in the abdominal cavity. The testes therefore descent to the scrotim. If this does not happen, the process of spermatogenesis is affected and spermatozoa are not formed. Such males will be infertile.
