When two waves of almost equal frequencies `n_(1)` and`n_(2)` reach at a point simultaneously, what is the time interval between successive maxima ?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

When two waves are reaching simultaneously at a point then number of beats heard per second `= n_(1) - n_(2)`
`therefore` Time interval between successive maxima
`t = (1)/(n_(1) - n_(2))`
