Two points are located at a distance of `10 m` and `15 m` from the source of oscillation. The period of oscillation is `0.05 `s and the velocity of the wave is `300m//s`. What is the phase difference between the oscillation of two points?

A

`(2pi)/(3)`

B

`pi`

C

`(pi)/(6)`

D

`(pi)/(3)`

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The correct Answer is:
A

T = 0.05 sec `upsilon` = 300 m/s
`lambda = T upsilon`, path difference = 15 - 10 = 5 m
`= 0.05 xx 300`
= 15 m
Phase difference, `phi = (2pi)/(lambda) xx` path difference `= (2pi)/(15) xx 5`
`phi = (2pi)/(3)`
