Why is the vapour pressure of liquid constant at a constant temperature ?

Verified by Experts

Vapour pressure is the pressure of the vapour at equilibrium state when rate of evaporation becomes equal to rate of condensation. Equilibrium constant does not change at a particular temperature and, therefore, vapour pressure remains constant.
