The partial pressure of ethane over a sa...

The partial pressure of ethane over a saturated solution containing `6.56 xx 10^(-2) g` of ethane is 1 bar. If the solution contains `5.00 xx 10^(-2) g` of ethane, then what shall be the partial pressure of the gas?

According to Henry.s law
`m = k xx p`
`6.56 xx 10^(-3) g = k xx 1 bar`
or ` " " k = 6.56 xx 10^(-3) g bar^(-1)`
Now , when ` m = 5.00 xx 10^(-2) g , p = ?`
Applying ` m = k xxp`
`5.00 xx 10^(-2) g = 6.56 xx 10^(-3) g bar ^(-1) xx p`
`therefore " " p = (5.00 xx 10^(-2))/(6.56 xx 10^(-3)) = 7.62 ` bar .
