The correct Answer is:
D

Given : `theta_(1)=90^(@), N_(1)=60" and "theta_(2)=60^(@)`
In Rutherford.s scattering experiment, the number of scattering particles,
`N propto 1/(sin^(4)(theta/2))`
`therefore N_(2)/N_(1)=[(sin(theta_(1)/2))/(sin(theta_(2)/2))]^(4)=[sin45^(@)/sin30^(@)]^(4)`
`" "=[(1/sqrt(2))/(1/2)]^(4)=[2/sqrt(2)]^(4)=[sqrt(2)]^(4)=4`
`therefore N_(2)=4N_(1)=4 times 60=240`
