Prove the following statement : A rainbow is the combined effect ( an exhibition ) of the refraction, dispersion , and total internal reflection of light ( taken together ) . OR With neat labelled diagram, explain how the formation of rainbow occurs.

The beautiful phenomenon of the rainbow is a combination of different phenomena - dispersion, internal reflection and refrection of light. The rainbow appears in the sky after a rainfall. The water droplets act as small prisms. When sunlight enters the water droplets present in teh atmosphere, they refract and disperse the incident Sunlight. Then, they reflect internally inside the droplet and finally again refract it. As a collective effect of all the phenomena, the seven coloured rainbow is observed. Q. Give a diagrammatic respresentation of Rainbow Production.

A rainbow is an example of dispersion of sunlight. Justify this statement by explaining, with a neat labelled diagram, the formation of a rainbow in the sky. List two essential conditions for observing a rainbow.
