Mass of a rod of length 4m is 3 kg. Its centre of gravity is 1.5 m from one of its ends. At the other end a mass of 8 kg is tied up. The rod is at a horizontal position. It is turned to a vertical position in such a way that the 8 kg mass goes to the top. What is the work done in changing the orientation of the rod ?

A monkey of mass 40 kg climbs on a rope which can withstand a maximum tension of 600 N.In which of the following cases will the rope break? The monkey- climbs up with an acceleration of 6 m cdot s^(-2)

According to Newton's law of gravitation , everybody in this universe attracts every other body with a force, which is directly proportional to the product of their masses and the inversely proportional to the square of the distance between their centres, i.e., F prop (m_1m_2)/(r^2) or F=G(m_1m_2)/(r^2) where G is universal gravitational constant =6.67xx10^(-11)N*m^2*kg^(-2) . Read the above passage and answer the following questions : (ii) How is the gravitational force between two bodies affected when distance between them is halved ?
