What are colligative properties ? Write the colligative property which is used to find the molecular mass of macromolecules.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Properties that depend on the number of solute particles irrespective of their nature to the total number of particles in the solution are called colligative properties. For example, relative lowering of vapour pressure, elevation in boiling point, depression in freezing point, etc. The property that is used to find out the molecular mass of macromolecules is osmotic pressure.
