Which of the following solutions has higher freezing point ?
` 0.05 M Al_2(SO_4)_3, 0.1 M K_3[Fe(CN)_6]` . Justify.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Depression in freezing point depends upon the concentration of the solution.` 0.05 M Al_2(SO_4)_3 ` has a lower concentration than `0.1 M K_3 [Fe(CN)_6]` solution.
Thus, `0.05 M Al_2(SO_4)_3` gives a lower depression in freezing point. In other words, it will freeze at higher temperature.
