Regeneration is a mode of asexual reproduction that occurs in some invertebrates belonging to the animal kingdom. When cut, individual body parts of these animals have the ability to grow into new organisms. Invertebrates such as Planaria and Hydra are capable of regeneration.
Hydra, when cut accidentally, is capable of regeneration. The basal part regenerates the head portion and the head portion regenerate the basal part.
