Reaction of an acid with a base is called neutralization reaction. Example :
(a) When hydrochloric acid reacts with sodium hydroxide (base), it produces sodium chloride and water because of neutralization reaction.
`2HCl + 2NaOH rarr 2NaCl + 2H_(2)O`
(b) When sulphuric acid reacts with sodium hydroxide, sodium sulphate and water are formed after neutralization reaction.
`2NaOH + H_(2)SO_(4) rarr Na_(2)SO_(4) + 2H_(2)O`
