Baking powder `(NaHCO_(3))`, salt A is commonly used in bakery products. On heating it forms sodium carbonate `(Na_(2)CO_(3))`, B and `CO_(2)` gas, C is evolved. When `CO_(2)` gas is passed through lime water it forms calcium carbonate `(CaCO_(3))`, which is slightly soluble in water making it milky.
`A - NaHCO_(3) B rarr Na_(2)CO_(3) C - CO_(2)` gas
