Difference between interference and diffraction : Interference is due to superposition of two distinct waves coming from two coherent sources and diffraction is produced as a result of superposition of the secondary wavelets coming from different parts of the same wavefront.
Given : `lambda = 600 nm = 6xx10^(-7)m, D=0.8 m, y_(2)=15xx10^(-3)m`
To calculation :` y_(2)=(5)/(2)xx (lambda D)/(d)`
`rArr d= (5)/(2) xx (6xx10^(-7)xx0.8)/(15xx10^(-3)) :. ` Distance, `d=8xx10^(-5)=80 mu m`.
