An alternating voltage given by V = 140 ...

An alternating voltage given by `V = 140 sin 314 t` is connected across a pure resistor of 50 ohm. Find (i) the frequency of the source. (ii) the rms current thought the resistor.

Text Solution

(i) V=140 sin 314 t.
`"Frequency source "f=(omega)/(2pi)=(314)/(3.14)=(314xx100)/(314xx2)=50`
(ii) `epsilon_(0)=140 " volt"`
`"rms value of current "E_(rms)=(E_(0))/(sqrt(2))=(140)/(sqrt(2))=(140)/(1.41)=99.29 Hz.`
`I_(rms)=(E_(rms))/(R)=(99.29)/(50)=1.98 A.`
