The galvanometer, in each of the two given circuits deos not show any deflection. Find the ratio of the resistors `R_(1)` and `R_(2)` used in these two circuits.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Current sensitivity of a galvanometer is defined as deflection produced in galvanometer per unit current.

In I,
`(4)/(R_(1)) = (6)/(4)`
`rArr R_(1) = (8)/(3) Omega`
In II,
`(6)/(12) = (R_(2))/(8) rArr R_(2) = 4 Omega`
`(R_(1))/(R_(2)) = (.^(8)//_(3)) = (2)/(3) rArr R_(1) : R_(2) = 2 : 3`
