You are provided with two containers made up of copper and aluminium. You are also provided with solutions of dilute HCl, dilute `HNO_(3),ZnCl_(2)`, and `H_(2)O`. In which of the above containers can these solution be kept ?

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

The solution can be stored in a copper vessel as copper is least reactive and it less reactive than hydrogen and zinc. The solutions cannot be stored in aluminium containers as aluminium is more reactive than hydrogen and zinc and displaces hydrogen and zinc from their solutions.
