A car is moving in a circular path with a uniform speed v. Find the magnitude of change in its velocity when the car rotates through an angle `theta`.

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Change in velocity `vec(DeltaV) =vecv - vecu`
The magnitude of change in velocity
`Deltav = sqrt(v^(2) + u^(2) -2uv cos theta)`
As the speed is uniform `=|vecv| =|vecu| =v`
`therefore Deltav =2v sin (theta/2)`
