Solve the equation:x^2+x+1/(sqrt(2))= 0...

Solve the equation:`x^2+x+1/(sqrt(2))= 0`

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

`x^2 +x+1/sqrt(2)=0`
Here, `a=1`,`b=1`,`c=1/sqrt(2)`
`x=(-b pm sqrt(b^2-4ac))/(2a)`
`x=(-1 pm sqrt(1^2-4(1)(1/sqrt(2))))/(2(1))`
`x=(-1 pm sqrt(1-2(sqrt(2))))/2`
`x=(-1 + sqrt(1-2(sqrt(2))))/2` or `x=(-1 - sqrt(1-2(sqrt(2))))/2`
Hence solved.
