Show that the minimum of Z occurs at more than two points : Minimise and Maximise `Z = 5x +10 y`subject to `x+2ylt=20 ,x+ygeq60 ,x-2ygeq0,x ,ygeq0`.

Text Solution

Minimize and Maximize `Z = 5x +10 y`

subject to
` " " " " x+2ylt=120` ,
` " " " " x+ygeq60`,
` " " " " x-2ygeq0`,
` " " " " x ,ygeq0`.

`therefore Z=300` is minimum at `(60,0)`

Also,
`Z` is maximum at two points `(60,30) & (120,0)`

`therefore Z=600` is maximum at all points joining `(60,30) & (120,0)`
