Factorise: (i) `49 a^2+70 a b+25 b^2` (ii) `(25)/4x^2-(y^2)/9`

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

`(i) 49a^2+70ab+25b^2`
`=(7a)^2+2**7a**5b+(5b)^2`
As, we know,` (x+y)^2 = x^2+y^2+2xy`
So, our expression becomes,
`=(7a+5b)^2 = (7a+5b)(7a+5b)`

`(ii)(25/4)x^2 - y^2/9`
`=(5x/2)^2 - (y/3)^2`
As, we know, `a^2 - b^2 = (a+b)(a-b)`
