Check whether the first polynomial is a...

Check whether the first polynomial is a factor of the second polynomial by dividing the second polynomial by the first polynomial :`t^2-3,2t^4+3t^3-2t^2-9t-12`

Text Solution

Verified by Experts

Here, `p(t) = 2t^4+3t^3-2t^2-9t-12`
`g(t) = t^2-3`
Now, we have to divide, `p(x)` by `g(x)`.
Please refer to video for the division.
After division, we get,
Quotient `= 2t^2+3t+4`
Remainder `= 0`
As, remainder is `0`, we can say that `g(t)` is a factor of `p(t)`.
